A-Basin – The Snow Junkies http://www.thesnowjunkies.com Lodging, Gear, and Lift Ticket Deals for Skiers and Snowboarders Thu, 07 Mar 2013 01:32:38 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=4.7.7 $619 for 6 Mountains!! Epic Pass Returns for 2010-2011 http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/2010/09/10/619-for-6-mountains-epic-pass-returns-for-2010-2011/ http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/2010/09/10/619-for-6-mountains-epic-pass-returns-for-2010-2011/#respond Fri, 10 Sep 2010 21:09:39 +0000 http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/?p=4573
If you follow this site at all, then you know how we feel about the Epic Pass. It’s easily one of the Top 5 deals in the country and certainly the best deal in Colorado. To recap, for $619, you get unlimited access to Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, A-Basin, Keystone, and Heavenly.

Side note: Last year’s Epic Pass was $579, only a $40 increase this year.

Each year, there’s one or two variations. This season, Vail Resorts offers the Epic Summit Pass for $419, which lets you ride Breck, Keystone, and A-Basin. If there’s any questions about which pass to get, definitely throw down the extra $200 and add three more mountains to your winter.

Each pass comes with some benefits. The best one is discounted tickets for your friends. We took advantage of a couple of these last season and rode Vail for around $55. Still a good chunk of change, but consider that a full day ticket was $97 and suddenly $55 looked pretty damn good.

Our recommendation: Don’t wait if you’re even considering purchasing an Epic Pass. There’s no official word on the Vail Resorts site if there will be a price increase or how long the passes will be available.

Carpooling is awesome. It saves gas money, as well as vehicle wear and tear. It alleviates traffic. It helps keep the Earth clean.

Oh, and some resorts will give you some sweet deals for stuffing you and all your friends (and all their) gear into one ride. We dug up nine resorts offering perks for leaving your car at home. Click on the orange links to get more information.

Shawnee Peak, ME: Mondays $75/carload
Mondays are Carload Dayz at Shawnee. Get to the mountain before 11am and everyone in the car gets a lift ticket for $75. Everyone must be riding legally.

Ragged Mountain, NH: Wednesday $99/carload
Bring a carload of people to ‘get ragged’ and the whole car skis for $99 (up to 8 passengers). Only good on non-holiday Wednesdays.

Mt. Abram, ME: Fridays $75/carload
Best reason we’ve found to skip work/school and start the weekend early. No special pricing during Christmas holiday week, MLK weekend, and President’s weekend.

Jiminy Peak, MA: FREE Ticket/4 person carpool
This only takes place on January 9-10. Fill out the online coupon, arrive before 10am with 4 or more people in the car, and a ticket from last year to get one FREE ticket.
