These $33 days (usually on Wednesday) are called “Local’s Appreciation Days” but to clear up any confusion to The Snow Junkies, these deals are for everyone. And if you haven’t sampled Wolf Creek, get your ass out there this season. It’s one of the best hidden gems in the Rockies.

I say this ever year: The Colorado Gems Card is one of the best deals out there for skiers. It’s only $10 and gets you free lift tickets, discounts off full price, and lots of “Buy 1, Get 1 Free” (BOGO) offers. The full list is below along with blackout dates and restrictions.
With the exception of SolVista Basin, I’ve ridden all of the Colorado Gems and they are loads of fun. There’s plenty of treasure both at the ski resorts and with this discount card.

Steamboat is extremely stingy with lift ticket deals so this is just about the only chance you’ll have at scooping up a low price ticket.

The first ever Snow Ball Music Festival went down this weekend in Beaver Creek. I managed to slip in for this performance from The Flaming Lips.]]>
I’ve been test driving Joel’s predictions during Colorado’s snowy January and they have nailed it damn near every time. His site claims to be “Voted #1 Snow Forecast By My Dad.” Well, add us to list. I now plan my ski week according to CPF.
The site includes a detailed 5-day forecast for every Colorado ski area, commentary on the weather, and a tally of Joel’s accuracy.

From the Loveland website:
The ceremony is a “mass wedding” done for all couples at the same time and lasts approximately 30 minutes. At the conclusion of the ceremony, all participants and guests will ski or snowboard down the mountain for a casual after party with cake, music and prizes. The runs leading back to the base area from this point are beginner and intermediate. The after party will start at 1:30pm at the base of Loveland Basin.
Guests to the wedding still have to pay the $59 daily lift ticket price. For those of you looking for a lot less commitment, head to Mad River Glen, Vermont where all you have to do is kiss your honey at the ticket booth window and each of you get $14 tickets. Wait, cheap tickets and I don’t have to get married. Phew.]]>
Ticket packages including lodging are available right now. You can also sign up for a giveaway to the Crested Butte stop.

It may not have snowed last night, but plenty of untracked stashes were still left in the aspens at Sunlight.]]>
It wasn’t supposed to snow, but it did again and we spent the day in the far corners of Winter Park digging ourselves out many happy messes.]]>
