Waterville Valley – The Snow Junkies http://www.thesnowjunkies.com Lodging, Gear, and Lift Ticket Deals for Skiers and Snowboarders Thu, 07 Mar 2013 01:32:38 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=4.7.7 How the Patriots Will Get You Wicked Cheap Tickets http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/2010/12/26/how-the-patriots-are-going-to-get-you-wicked-cheap-tickets/ http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/2010/12/26/how-the-patriots-are-going-to-get-you-wicked-cheap-tickets/#comments Sun, 26 Dec 2010 19:57:30 +0000 http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/?p=5132

The Mountain: Waterville Valley, NH

The Deal:
The number of points scored by the New England OPPONENT is the price you pay for a lift ticket the following Tuesday.

How It Works: If the final score is: New England – 45 , Opponent – 3. Your lift ticket at Waterville Valley the Tuesday following that game is just $3! And if the New England defense shuts out their opponent, you’re skiing for free down 52 awe-inspiring trails in the White Mountains.

Dates: Nothing on Dec. 28, but as long as the Pats are playing football.

Our Take: We finally get rewarded for the Pats being the best team in football. Defense! Defense!

St. Patty’s Lift Ticket Blowout! http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/2010/03/15/st-pattys-lift-ticket-blowout/ http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/2010/03/15/st-pattys-lift-ticket-blowout/#comments Tue, 16 Mar 2010 01:33:47 +0000 http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/?p=4495 Note: This article HAS been updated for the 2010-2011 season

Why does New England have so many St. Patrick’s Day deals than anywhere else in the country? Maybe because they’re so close to Ireland. We don’t care as long as it means cheap lift tickets. Here’s the short list of deals for Thursday, March 17th, 2011:

Mad River Glen: $17 ticket for wearing green.
Waterville Valley: Ski for $17 ticket and spend the night for $17.
Jiminy Peak: $17 E-coupon on the site.
Suicide Six: All lift tickets are $6.
Mt. Snow: $17 tickets.
Cannon Mountain: Wear whatever you want. Its 2 for 1 Thursday

If that wasn’t enough, here are a bunch more cheap tickets from from Liftopia.

Deals of the Week: 2/10 – 2/18 http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/2009/02/08/deals-of-the-week-210-218/ http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/2009/02/08/deals-of-the-week-210-218/#respond Sun, 08 Feb 2009 16:00:35 +0000 http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/?p=1198 President’s Day weekend is traditionally as terrible as Christmas for deals on lift tickets.  But this year, we uncovered so many, we added on two extra bonus days of discounted tickets — and also because we forgot to post them last week.  Our excuse:  We were busy riding Utah powder.

Tuesday, Feb 10 @ Attitash, NH: A typical deal usually has a hook.  This one has zero explantion for $35 tickets all ages.  We’re not complaining.

Wednesday, Feb 11 @ Sugarbush, VT: We almost missed this one too. Bring in an empty Vitamin Water bottle and get a ½ off lift ticket.

Thursday, Feb 12 @ Sierra-at-Tahoe, CA: The final day of Snowsports week to get a $35 ticket.

Thursday, Feb 12 @ Squaw, CA: Do you live in Truckee-Reno area? $25 tickets for locals.

Friday, Feb 13 @ Sugarbush, VT: Here’s some good luck on an unlucky day.  Tickets are only $14.

Friday, Feb 13 @ Belleayre, NY: Once a month, these New Yorkers say thanks with a $25 ticket.

Saturday, Feb 14 @ Loveland, CO: Get hitched and get a free lift ticket at Loveland. Twofer $56.  All you got to is get married in a mass ceremony.

Saturday, Feb 14 @ Ski Camelback, PA: Maybe our favorite promo of all time. The first 50 adults that show up in full pirate gear get a FREE ticket.

Monday, Feb 15 @ Winter Park & Copper, CO: According to the site, the Phillips 66 Buy One, Get One Free is valid today. We’re not sure if you believe that.

Tue-Thu, Feb 16-18 @ Killington, VT: The most irritating deal we found this week. Buy a ticket on 2/9 for $50 or on 2/10 for $55 or on 2/11 for $60 and go skiing 2/16-20. Makes sense, right?

West Coast: Squaw Valley, CA feels your pain state workers. $30 ticket on the first and third Friday until that crazy old budget gets fixed.

2 for 1 New England: Beer promos are the best promos. Drink some tasty Otter Creek, get a midweek twofer at Mad River Glen, Bromley, Bolton, or Jay Peak.

Rocky Mountains: Bring in a new pair of socks to Powder Mountain, UT on 2/26 and get a $40 ticket.

West Coast: Mt. Bachelor, OR announced a $29 midweek ticket. You got to buy it online.

Most Mountains for the Least Dollars http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/2008/12/31/731/ http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/2008/12/31/731/#respond Wed, 31 Dec 2008 20:41:19 +0000 http://www.thesnowjunkies.com/?p=731 If you’re staying at a resort for more than a few days, it’s a good idea to look into their discount card program. Most ski hills have some sort of deal, like the X2 Card from Stratton.  It costs $79, gets you one free day, and then $30 off midweek tickets.  Consider that a one day ticket costs $79 and it’s a no brainer.

But our favorite discount cards are the ones that work at multiple resorts.  Here are five deals that may have slipped under your radar.  They give you free or discounted lift tickets, lodging deals, and free tune-ups.  As always, it’s a good idea to doublecheck our findings — It’s New Year’s Eve and we started our celebration a little early.

The Ride and Ski New England Card
This card benefits the Childern’s Hospital in Dartmouth.  It comes with two free lift tickets to Cranmore and Waterville Valley and a mess of discounts to 22 resorts in the East.

Tahoe Card from Snowbomb
One of our favorite cards.  It’s $39.99 for the next four days, then kicks up to the regular price of $80.  You get a free ticket to Donner Ranch, free rentals, free tune-ups, discounted tickets and lodging, and a one year subscription to Transworld Snowboarder or Skiing.  Phew…

White Gold Card
For only $189 dollars you get a free lift ticket to 29 resorts in the Michigan area.  The first person to ski all 29 gets a free card for next year.  Roadtrip!

ALA Ski Card 2009
We stumbled across this card the other day on the Internet and had to post it.  $130 for 11 tickets at resorts in New Mexico and Colorado.  Only 1000 of these cards for sale from the American Lung Association of New Mexico.  This one you’ll want to double check.  The site doesn’t excactly scream legitimate ski deal.

Pow Pow Platter
It’s not a discount card, but it’s such a good deal we had to post it somewhere.  A sampler of three mountains — Steamboat Springs, Copper, and Winter Park.  $99 for one lift ticket to each resort.  Plus, you get a to-go container gift box.  After Jan. 3, the price goes up to $129.

What discount card are you rocking this season? Let us know at tips@thesnowjunkies.com.

Sunday, Jan 4 @ Northstar-at-Tahoe, CA:  Get a $25 pre-purchased lift ticket to benefit local schools. You have to pick it up at a local Porters sports store.
